Lead wool 5 lb organic lead (not silver free)

If you have anything that you believe might be gold, silver or platinum, it is simple to grind a small amount of your substance, wrap some lead wool around it, put it into a cupel and place it into a furnace at the appropriate temperature.  In about 40 minutes you will have a bead of  precious metals or no bead as the case may be.  Use in ventilated area. Avoid prolonged contact. Always wear rubber gloves.
